Scholarships:
Murph's Gift of Music Scholarship
The purpose of the Michael J. Murphy Scholarship Fund is to provide private instruction in music and music-related activities (including but not limited to instrumental, vocal, dance, and song-writing) for a period of one school year. The Fund will also provide the equipment and/or materials necessary to carry out the above activities. Students eligible for the award must be between 9-18 years old and currently enrolled in school. No student affiliated with any board member or employee of the foundation will be eligible for an award. Students who have been previously awarded a scholarship will be eligible to re-apply.

Senior Scholarship Essay
We invite all graduating seniors to enter our FINE ARTS BOOSTER (FAB) essay contest. To be considered, the Senior student must have been involved in at least one of the Performing Arts (Band, Choir, Drama or Speech) at Richards HS for a minimum of 2 years.

What is FAB?
Objective
Through funding and volunteer work, to support and promote excellence among students and faculty involved with the band, choir, and drama/speech programs at H.L. Richards High School.
Membership
Any Parent or Guardian of an active HLR student is welcome to participate in the Fine Arts Boosters as long as they have at least one student who is enrolled in the HLR Band, Choir, or Drama/Speech Programs.
General Membership Meetings and Activities
The organizational meeting times, dates, and frequency will be determined at the beginning of each school year by the committee. The organization will have a fall kick-off meeting/activity and an end-of-year awards night. There may be additional meetings and activities throughout the year if necessary to plan events, fundraisers, or during a trip year.
